EFFECTS OF A FORCE
A force can
(A) Bring a body in motion
(B) Change the motion of a body
(C)
Change the shape are size of a body
REPRESENTATION OF A FORCE AND CHARACTERISTIC OF A FORCE
To represent a force,
various quantities called characteristics of a force are given as : -
(A) Magnitude of force
(B)
Direction of force
(C) Line of action of force
(D)
Sense or nature of the force (Push or Pull)
PRINCIPLE OF TRANSMISSIBILITY OF FORCES
It states that if a
force, acting a point on a rigid body is shifted to any other point which is on
the line of action of the force, the external. effect of the force on the body remains
unchanged
